The Great Exhibition Ensemble

The Great Exhibition Ensemble was formed by local trumpet virtuoso Robert Vanryne with the aim of performing nineteenth century brass chamber music with original instruments.  Their concert in 2013 was hugely popular with the audience as they interspersed their stirring music with enlightening and amusing stories about their music and their instruments.

Gavin Edwards (horn), Adam Wolf (trombone and sackbut), Erhard Swartz (ophicleide), Neil Brough (trumpet) and Robert Vanryne (trumpet) at St. Paul’s Church Wooburn.

Drawn from the upper echelons of the early music movement, members of the ensemble include some of the world’s leading historically-informed brass specialists, all of whom appear regularly with Europe's finest period instrument orchestras. Visit their website to listen to some examples of their music and read more about the players.
